Silver Shamrock - Restored 1/2 ton racing yacht. Competed offshore in the RORC  2016 ----3rd Overall in class 4 ----Cowes week, 5,4,4,5,4 scoreline in the very competitive IRC Class 6 in the regatta.  Complete refit in 2016:  New sails, running gear, hull and top sides paint and wrap, re-rated (0.884) and ISAF cat 2. Winner of RORC Myth of Malham and other notable results in 2016. Silver Shamrock is fabulous upwind yacht nearly unbeatable in 14 knots of wind and super fast square running downwind in light airs... in fact perfect for the Solent. She sails double handed offshore and competed in the 450 mile Isle De Ouessant RORC race and the single handed Fastnet race all in 2016. Her new non-overlapping laminate head sail makes short handed sailing incredibly easy and the addition of a code zero head sail gives the perfect set up offshore. The addition of a A3 kite with snuffer for windy short hand sailing means she has a solution for every eventuality. Her result of 3rd overall in class 4 shows she has enormous potential against the JPK's and Sunfasts when sailed well, lots more potential for 2017. READY TO RACE TODAYSilver Shamrock is the prototype Shamrock 30 built in 1975 in Ireland for the legendary Harold Cudmore. She was the 1/2 ton cup and Cowes week winner in 1975. The yacht has been recently refitted to compete offshore in the RORC racing circuit with new bottom paint, silver hull wrap, new sails from Peter Kay at One Sails in Hamble with asymmetric set up including Code #zero and A3 as well as conventional symmetric down wind spinnakers. She is CAT 2 ISAF ready with all the correct equipment including AIS, VHF and full instruments. All new running rigging, and new LED navigation lights plus new ST1000 auto helm system for short handed sailing. With a change to non-overlapping head sails and the removal of internal ballast she now has a RORC IRC TCF of just 0.884. This year she won her class in the Myth of Malham race, 2nd in the De Guingand Bowl and 5th in Morgan Cup. She will race the remaining RORC races and currently stands 3rd in class 4 (final result for season) in the RORC 2016  series and 17 overall out of 200+ yachts.Engine: Yanmar single cylinder in original condition, fully serviced with new alternator.  2 x service batteries, 1 x starter battery all new 2016
