Hi, and thanks for looking at my ad for this 65ft Narrowboat for sale on behalf of the owner. She was built in 2002 to the specification of her demanding first owner. If you look around you can see that the asking price of £42,950 is very reasonable for a traditional boat with this engine and equipped to this standard with a mooring in this location and the owner will also consider an offer; she is advertised for sale elsewhere.Come and have a look around her, she is a great boat with some great features, fantastic equipment and a bright and light interior. You will not be disappointed. The mooring is fully transferable to the new owner and is in an ideal location in Egham / Old Windsor on the River Thames. The town centre is only a short walk away and has a full range of banks, shops, launderette, pubs and restaurants. It also boasts a mainline station running into London Waterloo including stops at Clapham Junction. The boatyard is small and friendly and everyone is welcome and the boat can be viewed there.Stepping onto the traditional stern there are double steel doors and a steel sliding hatch into the boat. Fitted with traditional controls with a brass speedwheel and a push / pull gear rod there are steps down into the back cabin. This is attractively fitted with 2 long bench seats either side that can also be used as berths with lots storage space under that also convert to a cross double. A doorway leads through into the dedicated engine room where the classic Lister JP3M diesel engine is fitted with electric start and 2 alternators for battery charging, you can also hand-start the engine if you're feeling energetic; the rest of the boat's main services are fitted here too. Twin side hatches either side complete the picture.
A doorway to starboard leads forward with the bathroom to port. This has a large shower cubicle with sliding opening and an excellent shower along with a sink with storage under, a Thetford cassette toilet and additional free-standing storage. Moving forward, you come to the large bedroom with double bed (good memory foam mattress) fitted to port and storage under and space at the end of the bed; a large double wardrobe gives full hanging height and internal shelves.
Next comes the galley with units fitted both sides and equipped with stainless steel sink / drainer and taps, fridge / freezer, free-standing cooker, wall-mounted microwave and a washing machine. There is storage above and below the worktop and a side hatch with double steel doors. This is semi open-plan to a very large saloon that has a custom made L-shaped sofa that converts to another double berth, a matching reclining chair and footstool, cupboards and shelves and space for a TV. There is a Bubble diesel corner stove with a back boiler and extremely attractive large copper pipes running down the starboard side that act as radiators.
Steel double doors lead forwards out to the semi-tug front deck under a recenly replaced cratch and cover; this is a large area that is great for storage and / or socialising. The lining is a mixture of nicely aged and mellowed tongue and groove and varnished panels with wood trim and lots of pleasing detailing. Porthole windows throughout complete the traditional feel and "bulls eyes" and a pigeon box along the roof bring in lots of light making the whole interior feel very charming with a homely feel.Overall, this is a really good opportunity to get hold of a very well equipped and charming narrowboat that has a traditional stern with a classic engine in a dedicated engine room and a practical and usable layout at a very attractive price that is suitable for use as a full-time liveaboard, a pied-a-terre or as a holiday or weekend cruising boat. The interior has an warm and homely feel and gives her a great character that will quickly make you feel at ease. She is a great boat and comes with moorings that are very reasonably priced so please come and view her so you can see for yourself. Her approximate overall dimensions are as follows:-LENGTH OVERALL 65ft (most of the paperwork and history has her listed as 67ft)
WIDTH OVERALL (BEAM) 6ft 10inchesYou are welcome to come and see the boat and look her over, so please feel free to give me, Richard, a call on 07958 792122, and ask any questions or to arrange a viewing. Alternatively, you can just turn up and look around as the boat is in a boatyard on the Thames; Bell Weir Boats Ltd, Yard Mead, Egham, Surrey, TW20 0AA. I have taken the measurements from the previous owners, surveys and other sources. Cash, Cheque, Banker's Draft or Bank Transfer is required for payment, and the payment will have to clear before you can use or take the boat. The boatyard welcomes DIY boaters and also has a full range of professional services on hand. I can also help with delivery if needed but you are more than welcome to continue with the mooring in the boatyard. Please feel free to email, phone or visit.
