Sadly I have put this fine Compromis 999 Yacht up for Sale In June 2011  I  bought S V Enterprise from Russ and Jas Altendorff  . They  sailed Enterprise in the English Channel from Brighton to Dartmouth on the English side, and from Dieppe to the Channel Islands  on the French side and all the ports in between. I’ve sailed her, out of Brighton, in the Solent and further along the South Coast. She is safe and seakindly, and easy to handle. In port we find very responsive having a 27hp saildrive she  is simple to manoeuver forward or reverse – very handy  . One look at the build quality of the hull, the rigging, and the interior teak furniture and fittings tells you that “Enterprise”  is different from  most yachts of similar  size. While  the builders, Zaadnoordijk, were being literal in their choice of name –  Compromis – they were being too modest in terms of the compromise that they created! “Enterprise” is built for the North Sea – she has a CE rating of Category ‘A’ Ocean . I’ve tried to keep her in top condition. Every year she has been serviced professionally, antifouled. Every year I have tried to upgrade something. She has had completely  new standing rigging, a new mainsail, new sail and cockpit covers, a new cruising shute and Selden furler. New X5 Autohelm. “Enterprise”  had one previous owner before Russ – John Goodluck Yachts – who happened  to be the East Coast Dealer for Compromis Yachts in the early 90’s. John  had “Enterprise” built as the show yacht for his business, and he did  not sail her from when she was built in 1995 until 1997 when John retired, and took “Enterprise” through the French canal system to the South of France. After a couple of years she was brought back overland to  St Malo, and then to the UK. She was then unused until Russ was lucky enough to discover her in 2003. She is a lovely yacht, with every home comfort and tremendous sea going capability – Zaadnoordijk are famous for building high quality boats and this design has a    Whatever the weather I have  felt safe in “Enterprise”.Please come and view the boat in brighton marina where she has a fixed mooring.
