Maumou is a 17' Morton Explorer 2, a ketch rigged centre board dayboat currently stored on her road trailer at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing academy. To the best of my knowledge she was built in the 1990's, and is in good condition for her age with some wear on the headsail and shallow grazes in places on the hull. She has been used in the summer season for sailing around the south coast, using the convenience of her trailer for sailing expeditions mounted from the River Blackwater, Portsmouth, Lyme Regis, Beer and Axminster. She is a safe, roomy and fun vessel for family day sailing. She has a roller reefing headsail, and fully reefable main and mizzen sails and a 4 Hp Mercury outboard. She is equipped with anchor and chain, bilge pump, 4 x dry lockers, fenders and mooring lines and a road trailer.
