'Volantis' is a Rival 34' classic yacht built to Lloyds standards in 1979 and launched in 1983. She was built by Marine Construction UK in Willments Yard in Woolston. These yachts are renowned to have excellent sea keeping qualities in all sea conditions. Suitable for short or very long sea passages. It was after seeing four Rival 34's in English Harbour, Antigua and speaking to their owners that made me interested in purchasing a Rival 34.After much searching and viewing various Rival yachts, I purchased 'Volantis' in 2009. Unfortunately, my health deteriorated shortly afterwards and I was unable to complete her refit. Her interior has been completely stripped out and is ready for complete refit. 'Volantis' has a new Beta Marine 28HP Diesel engine and gearbox, new stern gear including cutlass bearing, new prop, new shaft. She has mast, single line reefing boom (new), main sail, furling head sail, spray hood, halyard and sheet winches, station posts (rechromed), stainless steel fuel tank, hot water tank, expansion tank, all deck fittings including stem head, pullpit, pushpit, cleats, windless, teak cockpit grates, tiller, new anchor and chain, oven (new Smev stainless steel cooker with four ring hob). GRP mouldings to complete the hatches for the saloon and the forepeak are supplied. There is a new Brydon manual flush toilet. A used, but good condition aluminium table base for the saloon. There is a new Sestrel compass for the cockpit, new stainless steel transom boarding ladder and a Simrad RD 68 VHF radio which is new.The original interior fit drawings for the Rival are included. 'Volantis' comes with a four pad yacht cradle. Sadly selling due to health reasons. These yachts sell for between £25-30k, so a fantastic opportunity for someone to complete this project.
