Designed and built by well respected André Bénéteau the Evasion 34 is a coachroof cabin cruiser which became the most popular Evasion model in the UK. Her sloop rig gives good sailing performance particularly off the wind, while her powerful 50hp engine provides equally good performance under power. The layout is unusual and very practicable, with 3 double berth cabins, two forward and one aft as shown in the layout plan (see gallery).
The wheelhouse/saloon helm position gives perfect shelter and excellent visibility and the cockpit helm gives the traditional feel of a sailing yacht.Remarkable accommodation consisting of a forward double V berth cabin with shelf storage and a wardrobe. The berth has a removable wood panel to increase floor space if required.
The forward port side double berth cabin, has a mirrored door, shelf storage and a small wardrobe space, also with a removable wood panel to increase floor space.
To starboard are the heads and shower cubicle with a single basin with mixer tap and a hand shower unit, with hanging space, the floor has a teak varnished grating which allows the shower water to drain away.
The aft double berth cabin is equipped with a shelf and cupboard.
The dinette/saloon area, galley and nav station and provides an excellent and comfortable living area, and provides a further single berth.
There is plenty of storage available under all berths and saloon seats, and behind the saloon seat backs. The keel is long fin with skeg hung rudder.
A good solid boat; Tacks is a generously proportioned cabin cruiser with more interior headroom than expected. She is a light and airy family cruiser that can comfortably sleep seven in three cabins and a single lee berth. There in an option of interior or exterior helming, which makes her a great all weather sailer. She comes well equipped and kitted out and is ready to sail with her new owner.
