Due to a boatyard mistake, the cockpit drains were incorrectly fitted and on a beam reach the boat flooded due to siphoning. This ruined the air cooled engine and electrics plus, when the RNLI (bless their socks) got on board with the pump, they did not wait to pump the water out (at bunk seat level by this stage) to lift the cabin sole so did damage to some of the panelling and the cabin doors. This part is an easy job for a decent woodworker.
I removed the fabric from the main cabin cushions and have the foam ready for recovering
The biggest job will be to get in a replacement engine although you could in the interim use a long shaft outboard from a stern fitting I installed as a backup before the incident.
As you can see Gaff rig with two mains and several jibs. Forestay replaced last Spring but you will want to replace the topmast shrouds as these (galvanised) have started to rust.
A very dry (normally! ), secure boat to sail. It was doing 7 knots when the flooding took place.
She is a real headturner of a boat-always gets admiring comments when we go into marinas. Teak deck on two layers of marine ply. Full standing headroom in main cabin. Four berth with childs bed also. Separate heads.
Built as a prototype for a range originally to be called Smuggler 25 by Stockton Ironworks, the design was sold and is now built in fibreglass -I believe in Holland- as Tradewind Atoll 25 where they sell for an astonishing 165,000 Euro!!!!
Ashore in Wareham Dorset where fees are paid until April
