This is a Hand made 15ft Power Dinghy designed by John Clarke at Compumarine.http://compumarine.com/the-power-dinghyI built the boat over 2 years and launched it in February 2015.This boat always turns heads.I get people stopping me at traffic lights to tell me how beautiful it is.Every jetty I pull up to people come to admire and talk about the boat.The boat has 'Classic' lines, with a beautiful fine entry, tumble home aft and a classic sheerline.However it is built using modern techniques which ensure a long life and low maintenance.The hull is encased in fiber glass and is essentially a compound structure from which it gains great strength with light materials.All timber components have been liberally coated in 'Everdure' before installation to ensure no water penetration into the wood and preventing the possibility of rot.The hull is made of Oregon which was also used for all structural elements.The benches and 'decks' are Mahogany and Australian Hard woods were used for trim. The sole is Blue Gum and the coaming and rub rail are Balckbutt.The motor is an 8HP Evinrude, two stroke. It is a 1990's model, I don't know the exact year.It starts reliably and has only needed minimal routine service.It has a built in alternator designed to run old style filament nav lights, but with a regulator could probably be used to keep the battery charged.We have spent long days on the water with this motor and never used more than the 10L tank.The boat is designed to plane using a 20HP motor, but we never intended to be in a hurry.We named the boat Picnic. I built the boat, and fitted it out, to be able to spend a day on the water bringing all the things you would need for hanging out, fishing, swimming and eating.The benches run fore and aft, giving generous space in the middle of the boat and allowing everyone to sit facing inwards when socialising.The boat has a built in Anchor locker forward, containing an anchor and rode.Immediately aft of this there is a really well insulated ice box that has kept ice frozen for up to 4 days. Its about as big as a slab of beer.There is a small locker aft of the ice box that is deep enough to contain a portable gas stove and other eating utensils. Under the locker there is a compartment for stowing gear.At the rear of the boat, under the aft bench, there is a stowage space for the fuel tanks and a shelf for the battery. The electrics panel is set in here.The boat has built in LED nav lights forward and comes with a white aft LED light that is inserted into a power point.It also has an electric bilge pump and two small 'cabin' lights.The switch panel is new.These all run from a small 12v battery I remove and charge in the shed. The Battery comes with a smart CTEK charger.I am very proud of how this boat turned out. I'm sad to sell it but I have recently purchased another classic timber boat. It turns out you can have too many boats....EFT would be my preferred payment method.Local pick up is preferred, but I'm happy to talk about me dropping it off if i can make it work.The boat has rego till April 2017 and the trailer is good until February 2017.
