DescriptionCruising version of the popular Seal 22.We purchased "Folly" in February 2012 and have enjoyed sailing her around the Solent from her mooring in Chichester harbour.Only up for sale now as we have purchased a larger Seal.If you're not familiar with the Seals, they provide excellent sailing, sea-keeping and benefit from a lifting keel allowing you enter shallow waters. Also benefit from being a trailer-sailor allowing you to winter at home or in storage. Designed by renowned boat designer Angus Primrose who also designed a number of the Moody's.Accommodation down below is surprisingly spacious, practical and includes a sea toilet, spirit stove, 4/5 berths - everything you need for a weekend away or longer.Since purchasing Folly, we have carried out an extensive programme of replacing sails, rigging, engine and fitting her with a very practical and smart Spray Hood designed and fitted by CJ Marine.Her new owners can enjoy a boat that really is ready to sail away and enjoy now.Viewings are welcome, email to arrange a viewing."Folly" is currently moored in Chichester Marina, Chichester on Pontoon TX04 - if you'd like to have a look at her.Offers may be accepted on the asking price.Price does not include the road trailer shown in the pictures.TRAILER CAN BE PURCHASED TOGETHER WITH THE BOAT BY SEPARATE NEGOTIATIONS. TRAILER WAS FULLY RECONDITIONED IN 2015 WITH NEW TOW HITCH AND NEW GALVANISED BRAKED SINGLE AXLE. TRAILER HAS ONLY BEEN SUBMERGED ONCE SINCE OVERHAUL IN MARCH 2016 WHEN "FOLLY" WAS LAUNCHED (SEE PICTURES) PRIOR TO THIS "FOLLY" WAS LOWERED ONTO TRAILER TO HAVE THE NEW SUPPORTS ADJUSTED. Lifted out in March 16 - hull cleaned and polished. 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of hard racing anti-foul applied. Since then she's had her bottom scrubbed when she's been in shallow water/beach.Seals have a very active Class Association with regular meetings and a wonderful Newsletter. We can include the full Seal 22 Manual with the boat, which was composed by the Seal Association, which includes everything from sail plans to trailer specifications. LIFT KEEL DRAFT 2' When lifted & 4' when down.Engine(s)ENGINE Purchased new in July 14 from Sussex Boat Shop, Chichester.Mercury 6hp outboard STD shaft, 4 stroke fitted with a high trust propeller. Housed in well in cockpit.Integral fuel tank and a 25ltr quicksilver fuel tank purchased new with the engine.Serviced - December 2104 and November 2015 by Sussex Boat Shop.ConstructionGRPHull sprayed up to ensure accurate glass to resin rations and "E" glass used in the conjunction with hand laid woven ravings, to give a really strong moulding. There is a progressive thickening from waterline to keel. Additional strengthy is provided at areas of stress, and deck beams and wood backing pads are used as necessary.AccommodationACCOMMODATIONDesigned as 4/5 berth cruising boat, we (two adults) have found her very comfortable enjoying as much as 16 consecutive nights on board her.Sitting headroomNew sea toilet fitted March 16
New cooker fitted March 2013 - spirit stove, gas fittings removedNew curtains fitted shortly after we purchased her in 2012. Cooking onboard is a pleasure as you simply remove the forward quarter cushion to reveal a galley area complete with sink. Sit while you cook, which is great when underway or at anchor/floating mooring. Stove gimbals.Battery power (batteries included with boat) and shore power (shower power lead included with boat).
