1986 Formula Thunderbird with KAAMA racing drives and tri-axle trailer
Estimated price for orientation: 10 200 $
Category: Other Powerboats
Class:
Description Condition: Used Year: 1986 Trailer: Included Make: Formula Use: Fresh Water Type: Thunderbird SR-1 Engine Type: dual GM V-8...i believe they are 504's Length (feet): 35.7
This anniversary year Thunderbird SR-1 is equipped with KAAMA racing surface drives (a $20,000 option). It comes with a practically new condition tri-axle trailer (with surge brakes) which is in excellent condition. All aspects of the boat were operational when I put it in storage a couple of years ago. This past Spring I took it out of storage and was having the engines tuned when the mechanic at Klarr Racing engines DIED unexpectedly. The boat was left outside for about three months and some rain got into the cabin via an open hatch. The engine compartment remained dry and is quite clean. Both engines were operational at that time. I have not cranked them since. There is minor water damage and staining of carpet. All upholstery is original and some is fairly worn. With new upholstery here and there (and a good buffing) this boat would look practically new. The KAAMA drives throw a huge tail when tuned to max speed. The exhaust system is sound and, frankly, quite loud. The hull is solid and has no leaks. I am not aware of any structural defects or other major problems. This is an opportunity to own a real classic for a very low price.
