Here we have “Puffin” my Hardy Fishing 20. I have had the boat for 4 years, and am reluctantly selling as I have not enough time to use her, and have too many other hobbies also. I bought her from local father and son boat enthusiasts/friends, who fitted the present engine, fuel system & electronics. As he is regarded as one of the best professional marine engineers in the area, it is all set out to a high standard, which becomes very obvious when viewed. The engine was virtually new when I had it, and have only really used it up to 20-25 hours per year since. This year I have only managed 2 hours use, hence the sale. The engine/gear box gets the full service and care at the end of each season, as does the whole boat – polish/teak oil/anti-fouling/anodes etc. The boat/engine details are:Suzuki 70 HP (DF70) outboard – petrol 4 stroke – which power tilt/trim/helm indicator.Suzuki remote control for throttle/choke and power tilt.2 Leisure marine batteries (one just 6 weeks old) – fitted via a variable off-1-2 way switch.Twin axle trailer (new bearings last year on rear axle) – braked.20 litre Fuel Tank – with additional inline fuel filter and water catcher.Garmin 160 Fishfinder/volts power meter.Furuno GPS Navigator map plotter.Navigation lights/windscreen wiper and a bespoke hardwood switch panel.4 fitted fishing rod holders.New thick fender rope - once piece around boat – custom made/purchased/shipped from Langman in Holland - synthetic Polytex (very expensive). Looks exactly like a hemp rope but virtually indestructible, big bonus. The centre of the rope has a stainless steel core for mounting.  The hardwood rope fender holders are new - which I had made from sapele. Original teak hand holds are on sides and top. She has a new bespoke made sapele hardwood and stainless steel bench at the stern of the deck. She also has a new cabin enclosure/door – made of “Top Gun” blue synthetic canvas – by “The Boat Yard” sail makers. Very good bit of kit to stop weather/birds from entering the cockpit. The boat is 20 ft in length, bean is 8 ft, draught is 2ft. She weighs 870 KG without the engine or batteries/fuel. She can be pulled by a large family car, but I borrow my friends pick-up twice per year.I mainly use her for family days-out and fishing. She is a very-very seaworthy craft, with a large self-draining cockpit/open rear deck means that she can be left on a mooring and will self-drain so no bilge pump required. I leave her on a mooring during spring/summer which dries-out as this boat hull design allows this, which is a significant benefit. Hardy Fishing 20 boats have an excellent reputation for sea handling, which is why I purchased her, and it’s very true, she is solid as a rock. She has two good size breaths below (I have slept/cooked on her with my kids), both of which have lots of storage space beneath. There is also a place (centre seat) for a sea-toilet (not now fitted) – but I haven’t bothered with that, and it is just used for extra storage (flares/anchors/etc.) and seating. The berth areas below are accessed via locked cabin doors/slide hatch. From within the cabin there is also an opening hatch which allows access to the foredeck. The 70 HP Suzuki engine is superb, efficient, reliable and very quiet – easily pushes her onto the plane and she just keeps going.  She can be more than enough fast, let’s just put it that way. She comes with the original pilot and co-pilot seats and steering helm. She can be piloted from inside the cockpit area during wind/rain and you will remain warm and bone dry.The open deck area is spacious and has four fitted rod holders when you’re fishing, so you can set up the rods, and retire to the cabin and watch if it’s raining or you want lunch.I contacted the manufacturer (Hardy Marine) and using her stamp number, they kindly advised she is 1990-on, and supplied me copies of the original information/manuals she came with.Mechanically/electronically she is in near new condition. Obviously as a boat she is not new and the hull has a few minor scuffs/blemishes here and there (not by me mind!). I also polish her blue sides every year with quality marine wax, but after a season on the water the elements make it necessary to do it again, but clearly this has no real impact on the boat, I am just far too fussy. I have not as yet waxed her since she came out of the water a few weeks ago. Some of the pictures show her when she was just polished before the season start. She has just been taken from the water, cleaned and engine winterised. She is now resting dry on her trailer in a secure yard in the local area. She comes with a full complete set of manuals, receipts, documentation, and original boxes for the electronics. I think I am asking a very fair price here, as a fair price I purchased her for and now after adding new kit to her. Probably the best price for a good Hardy Fishing 20 in the UK at the moment. I want her to go to another good home that can enjoy her as I have.Clearly, if you are interested, a viewing is a must before purchase and can be easily arranged if you fancy a trip to Beaumaris, Anglesey. If you have any questions please do ask me via email. Payment via cash/cleared cheque – following viewing/consideration. All the best, Ian.
