Exceptional Reproduction of the original 26' Herreshoff Alerion. Built by Gannon & Benjamin in 2005, this fine little yacht was constructed to exacting detail by building to the original MIT Herreshoff archival plans (including the instantly recognizable Herreshoff Sheer Strake). The deviation from the plan was installation of the Yanmar 1GM Diesel and hydraulic drive. The diesel was placed forward, in order to not intrude upon the cockpit or coach. A hydraulic drive was installed in order to not interfere with the centerboard design and to place the bronze propeller along the centerline of the keel, just forward of the rudder. She is truly a masterpiece. Should the boat not sell by June, she will be exhibited and for sale at the 2017 Wooden Boat Show at Mystic Seaport.Additional photographs are not available at this time as she is covered for the winter.
