Here we have for sale a Norwegian Fjord cruiser believed to have been built in approximately 1983, this style of cruiser was built from approximately 1978-1988. Fjord boats are renowned as being built to the highest quality and seaworthy designs. She was built for inland and off shore but was re-engined approximately six years ago to be used more for inland waterways. It has 2 cabins and a wheel house, the front cabin is nice and large with plenty of space and head height and has a seating area which converts into a double bed, a gas hob/grill, fridge, sink with hot and cold running water, lots of storage in cupboards and under seats and switch panel for lighting and water pump etc. In the back corner of the front cabin in its own room is a sea toilet with pullout sink. The wheel house again is very spacious with bench seating to the rear and 2 lift up drivers and co pilot seats to the front of the cabin. This area is covered by the red hood which can be unclipped and folded down to the rear for summer cruising. The windscreens have 2 wipers for sea and bad weather sailing, comprehensive switch panel (for marker lights, bilges etc) and a bank of engine gauges and controls showing rpm, charging, oil pressure water temperature, depth and speed meter etc. Along with engine and steering controls as you would expect. There is also the main battery isolator switch that allows single or dual batteries to be switched from the wheel house. Under the lift up wheel house floor there is the engine in the centre with stern drive along with hot water tank, fresh water tank and dual batteries. There is a split charge system with a leisure battery and an engine battery. The rear cabin has built in seating boxes with under storage that can sleep 3, 1x double bed and 1x single bed (there are no cushions for the beds but the seat/bed bases are present). Stored here are the cushions from the wheel house seats and the curtains, all of which have been washed and wrapped in plastic to keep clean. The boat is in great condition and is welcome to any inspection and unusually for most boats this size is out of the water so the hull can be inspected which is in excellent condition. The boat is on a yard trailer, the trailers chassis is in good conditioning with only a couple of small areas of rust but the indespension units are in poor shape (with one of the centre units having rotted off completely) and there is no working braking system although the trailer did have hydraulic brakes at some time. The boat is sold advising to move on a low loader but the trailer is salvageable with time and money being spent on it and comes with the boat. The previous owner replaced the original Volvo Penta diesel engine with a Marinised Ford 2.5D transit engine which is a popular choice for inland waterways and considerably cheaper to maintain and better on fuel than the original Penta engine. The engine hasn’t done very much work since being fitted and as can be seen in the pictures is very clean with a good installation and easy access. We started the engine and ran for less than a minute last week to make sure everything was OK and charging voltage and oil pressure etc was good. When the boat was bought the owner spent over a year looking for a Fjord and paid £19,000 for this boat approximately 6 years ago, it was by far the best of the boats that were viewed and for the first 2 years of owner ship it was moored at Wire piddle marina (Worcestershire) and then moved closerto home to Barton marina (Warwickshire) for a further year being used for weekends and a couple of trips around the local waterways. At this time the owner was made redundant and cutting costs took the boat out of the water and stored on their driveway for 2 years. The owner is now relocating to Australia and was wanting to export the boat to Australia but due to import restrictions this has now proved unfeasible and the boat is very reluctantly up for sale. The hull, windows and fixtures are all in good condition and the red hood is also in good condition though it does have a very small tear in the rear canvas which could easily be repaired and is photographed, we washed the boat and hood to take pictures but unfortunately the field behind then has spread all its seeds over the hood which was wet so they have now stuck to it, but this will be cleaned off before sale. The boat is not new and there will no doubt be a few small jobs required to put back on the water, the anti fouling will require redoing, there is a drop in section of the rear cabin floor that has gone missing and the engine battery will most likely require replacement due to age and not being kept charged. There are user manuals for most of the fittings, such as the fridge, radio, depth/speed meter etc and 2 sets of keys.Specification• Length: 27ft (8.24m)• Year: Believed 1983• Berths: 5• Engine: Diesel 2.5 Ford• Fuel: Diesel• Beam: 9ft 10in (3m)• Draught: 2ft 8in (0.81m)• Air Draught: 7ft 8in (2.34m)• Extras: Hot water, fridge, bathing platform, ladder, davits.Fjord 26AC Cruiser boat constructiono White GRP hullo White GRP superstructureo Stout black PVC upper strakeso Stainless steel pulpito Stainless steel hand railso Burgundy acrylic canvas canopyo Laddero DavitsWheel house and engine bayo Ford 2.5 diesel engineo Conventional shaft driveo Single lever controlo Temperature gaugeo Rev countero 2 x 12volt batteries (Engine and leisure)o Hot water via calorifier from engineFront cabin Accommodationo 2 v berths forwardo Infill panel converts to double bertho Bench seat ,berth to porto toileto fridge mounted afto New Upholstery in dralono Carpets and curtains to matchRear cabin cabino 2 berths either side (1x double 1x single)o Storage undero Storage module between berths rear (removed)Front galley cabino 2 ring hob and grillo fridgeo Stainless steel sinkToilet cabino Vanity basino Sea toiletViewing is more than welcome by appointment and please drop me a message if you would like any additional information, I have lots of pictures that I can email over to anyone that is interested.
