I bought this lovely fibre glass, clinker effect, Salcombe river launch in the autumn of 2007, the last year it was in regular use. I have had it stored either on our drive or on a farm ever since.
Decoratively it was in a mess, as the previous owner had painted it with house paint, which was all peeling off the interior. The only work I have done to the launch is to pressure wash the lose paint off, removing the two aft side thwarts whilst doing-so. The varnish work was also in a sorry state and I have scrapped much of this off. Although the Stuart Turner 4HP petrol engine is cosmetically sad too, it was a runner in 2007. The propeller has a small ding to one blade, which needs hammering out. The rudder is transom hung (not shown in picture - it's inside the boat).
You are looking at a project, at the end of which you will have a lovely river launch. A new one today would set you back £10,000.00.
The trailer was serviced in 2015, having a new towing fitting, new jockey wheel assembly and new mud-guards fitted; the wheel axles were also checked and greased. The trailer does not have brakes.
The cover is functional, so once you've restored her, you'd want a new one.
I had planned to restore her when I retire, but in re-assessing life, I have reluctantly decided to offer her for sale to someone who will undertake the restoration and enjoy using her.
