A vintage well maintained 1956 wooden mahogany plywood "Thistle" sailboat and trailer. Thistles are 17ft long and about 6ft wide. The wooden mast is also original and is 27 feet. It carries a mainsail, jib and optional spinnaker. The mainsail and jib are total about 175 square ft. It's a fast boat. It comes with two sets of sails and a spinnaker. Also included is a new canvas boat cover.Boat has never been moored/stored in water - always trailered and dry stored. I have an Illinois vehicle title for the trailer and an Illinois Watercraft Title for the boat.Please contact me if you want to see this beautiful vintage woodie/wooden sailboat and I will meet you in Richmond, IL Rt 31 and the IL/WI State Line. Price is negotiable. It is located in storage unit 15 minutes south of Lake Geneva, WI on the IL/WI state line. Local pickup is required.I bought the boat from the original owner in Cleveland, Ohio over 30 years ago. The serial number is 787. It has been serviced and maintained by various Thistle enthusiasts including "Howdy" King of King Marina in Indianapolis. I sailed it regularly at Morse and Geist reservoirs(Indianapolis) as well as Geneva Lake, WI. It is in storage in Richmond, IL. It has not been in the water for three years. The trailer tires show no wear, but they have some age on them(you should replace). The trailer hitch requires a 1"7/8 ball.
