Here is my houseboat project which has been unfinished . It is roughly 25ft long and comes on the trailer so ready to tow away . I got this boat from eBay beggining of 2016 with the intention of living on the waterways but however as always life has changed for me so I'm not longer going to do so . As you can see I have removed the side walls and fitted new higher ones to allow a comfortable head height internally ( I'm around 6ft ) . Any rotten wood was replaced as i wemt along so this is a nice sturdy dry boat now. I've fitted proper narrow boat windows instead of the cruiser style sliding type which I think make it look a lot better . Inside.
As soon as you step thru the double doors there is the bathroom partitioned off from the main living area . I have a chemical caravan cassette toilet to the right the left I had planned shelving/ cupboard and in the middle I was going to make a removable floor panel to allow a shower tray ( not done ) making it really liveable and usable . To the front I have fitted 2 bench seats with storage underneath which will turn into a bed at night. As you can see I was planning a rustic look so have started cladding in recycled pallet wood which I think works well . There is a bilge pump fitted between the 2 benches as seen in the pics. Inbetween the bathroom and seating is the kitchen area ( not built ) both sides were marked out to be cupboards with worktops one side the cooker etc the other the sink . Between the kitchen area and seating I have left a space to fit a wood burner as there was already a perfectly placed hole in the roof for the chimney . The trailer I had made by a local engineer so all new steel and the twin axles are from another boat trailer . I've painted in proper chassis paint to protect . I have various bits to go with the boat including a cooker salvaged from a caravan . There is also various roof vents bilge pumps and bits and pieces I bourght along the way to finish. There is no engine fitted as it was a old inboard that was knackered so I removed allowing more living space . The plan was to fit an outboard on a bracket . There is a tiller fitted and I was hoping to allow an outboard to be used with it . So to finish in my opinion it will basically need the kitchen units making. Wiring/plumbing. A log burner fitting . Top coat of paint ( it's in primer now as was undecided on final colour ) there is a couple of finishing bits to fill and sand before paint. Fit a outboard. Ideally it wants a canopy making for the rear end to keep out rain water. I have a few bits of paperwork for it including the registration. Anything boat related I find inbetween times will go with it too . I've probably missed quite a bit so please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll do my best to answer any questions. This is currently at my brother's place ( he has done most of the build for me as he has the skills I lack ) near HAY-ON-WYE HEREFORDSHIRE so please bare that in mind when bidding . We towed it there from Northamptonshire with his range rover with ease . But please don't think it can be towed bar a car you will need a decent van or 4x4 Cash on collection please.
