I have decided to put my 50ft Semi Traditional stern Narrowboat up for sale, which has been my home for the last 18 months. I have purchased a project boat and I have decided to focus on this full time. This boat was built in 1990 by John Pinder and Sons of Birmingham and is of 10/6/4 steel construction. The last survey was in 2012 where some small plates were welded onto the bow of the boat and the other recommended work was completed. The boat was taken out of the water Dec '15 / Jan '16 and blacked with three coats of bitumen. The outside lockers were de-scaled and painted. Boat Safety until Dec '19. During my ownership I have done a lot of work to this boat, and it is now in a position for a single person or couple to move aboard and live in comfort. There are a few minor jobs left to do on the interior, but certainly nothing major. Quick overview of the boat: Entering from the stern and down the stairs you will find a small double bed (4") with ample storage underneath and a small hanging wardrobe. Further down the hall and to your left is the bathroom - copper basin with vanity storage, drop through pump-out toilet and shower over hip bath. Forward to the galley there is a 12v fridge, gas oven and grill combined with hob over, sink with drainer and plenty of storage space. The kitchen is small but practically laid out with plenty of storage. Onto the large saloon there are two swivel reclining chairs, a morso squirrel wood burning stove, solid wood reclaimed parquet floor ( which I have just finished! ) and corner storage. Toward the bow doors there is full height storage on both the port and starboard side, with the starboard storage housing the new gas water boiler. Out onto the well deck there are two lockers which can be used as seating and a third which is the gas locker. Forward of this on the bow is the integral steel water tank. Outside the boat, the roof is fitted with 350w of solar panels, the flues for the boiler and the morso stove and several mushroom vents. The back deck has a small seating area. Overall the paintwork is in very good condition, however the roof could do with a repaint next year. All of the following has been fitted over the last year: 75A uprated alternator.
Starter Motor.
Complete new battery bank ( 1 starter, 4 leisures )
New bilge pump 12v wiring replaced
LED Lighting fitted throughout New refrigerator with icebox ( 12v )
New kitchen sink
All new plumbing and new boiler
New shower and bath bilge pump
New fresh water pump and accumulator
Complete bathroom re-fit. 350w solar panels, wiring and controller.
3kW generator ( which will go with the boat ). Floors have been replaced throughout; solid wood parquet in the saloon and tiles with easy clean vinyl in the main cabin. I'm happy for anyone to view the boat by appointment. The boat is currently lying at Rickmansworth, Herfordshire on the Grand Union. Email or eBay message is the best means of contact in the first instance, but if you send me your telephone number I will call you back to discuss as soon as I can. Viewings from 28th Jan, but can do an evening this week if you are local and don't mind viewing the boat in the dark. Payment via bank transfer - no paypal please.
