For Sale is my 4.5m Clinker Hull Ski Boat. You would consider buying this boat if you needed the motor for something else. The boat itself is believed to be a Merlin or Ramsay Clinker hull. At some point before i bought it, it was converted from an inboard to an outboard and as such is a one of a kind abomination.Having this as my first boat, there was alot i didnt know about boats when i purchased it. However i have had it for 5 solid years and enjoyed every minute with it.THE MAJOR ISSUE is the motor is TOO BIG for the hull. Given that this is a clinker hull, it generally likes to tilt quite a bit when turning. The weight in the head of the V6 motor actually has the potential to capsize the boat when it is leaning, making for a larger than normal turning circle. (We have NEVER capsized this boat mind you)Still as i said my family and i have enjoyed the boat for 5 years, my partner learned to drive in this boat and we have many fond memories of it.AS it stands this is a turn key boat. The motor was serviced last season and is a SOLID self mixing 2 stroke 150 HP 1990 model Mecury V6 Black Max, it was been well looked after and never suffered any mechanical failure what so ever. It's pickup and performance on this hull is outstanding. It was also fitted with a brand new Mechanical steering system, replacing the old cable and pulley system. A new fuel filter/water seperator was also fitted last year. The motor also has electric trim/tilt.The trailer was re-built from the ground up including new axle, new hubs (holden type) new leaf springs (ton rated) new wheels, new wheel arches, new winch and a globe light bar. Trailer is also fitted with both large round and flat trailer plugs.The Hull has had a lot of work including fibreglass repairs, floor repairs, transom strengthening, new carpet and new gelcoat top and bottom. The top deck was vinyl wrapped 2 years ago and is now showing signs of wear. The hull is also fitted with a custom 60L stainless bow tank and a quicksilver throttle controller. There is a working speedo guage, Taco and trim guage. No hrs gauge and no fuel gauge. The hull,, while it's no show boat, is in excellent condition with no existing damage or spongy floor bits.I have been advised by boating "specialists" that the boat and motor combination is recommended unsafe and as such will struggle to obtain boating insurance. I have never attempted to acquire insurance for it however there were no problems registering it.BOTH BOAT AND TRAILER ARE NSW REGISTERED:BOAT UNTIL: 06/11/17TRAILER UNTIL: 06/08/17Both will be sold with remaining rego and includes current rego paper work.In the time i have had this boat the family and i have done ALOT of skiiing, tubing and river cruising with it. It has always been run in fresh water and never in salt water.
