Amazon 28 Catamaran for sale in Southampton, UK - Bill O'brien design.We have decided to sell our beloved catamaran as we have had so much fun with her, we are going to get something similar, but in the Med. the previous owners took her down the French Canals, so much of the equipment is for long stays away. We have found her very comfortable (even for a family of 5!)She is in generally great condition (especially considering hwe age) but there are a few cosmetic bits which we will try and finish over the next week.HULL: The hull is fiberglass, not wood and the coach house is also fiberglass. Hulls are sound, but need antifouling. This was done last year. Structurally very sound, one small repair needed to the port hull bow. All windows have been re-sealed to prevent moisture ingress.ENGINES: Nanni branded engines have been serviced less than 6 months ago, both running well and under 8 years old. Diesel inboards, 10hp each.SAILS / RIGGING:
Genoa and Mainsail less than 5 years old, good condition,
Mizzen older buy still in good condition.
All Dacron.
Running rigging all replaced 3 years ago.
Standing rigging all good condition.POWER:
6 Batteries in professionally fitted system, linked to
2 solar panels.
Batteries never seem to die! EQUIPMENT:
Water heater (calorifier with 3kw emersion),
Eberspacher diesel heater,
Pressurised water system,
Navigational lights,
GPS,
VHF Radio,
Inverter,
Large fridge,
Gas Cooker and hob,
Shower,
Radio,
Very expensive electric toilet!
180l fuel tanks
180l water tanks
Davits (currently off, but will be included in sale)
Massive bimni which covers the helm seat and the whole of the back of the boat. Can be unzipped to just the top being covered, great in the sunshine. Can also be completely removed.
Fenders, boat hook,
Liferaft (needs a service)
Windlass (manual)
2 anchors.
Heavy duty mooring lines, plenty of rope.ACCOMMODATION:
Saloon: Standing headroom (5'8") which is unheard of for this size of boat!
2 x Double bed cabins, carpeted under two years ago.
Heads with shower
Galley with lots of cupboards and bigger fridge than normal.
Outside space with seats at stern - Has captains chair and nav equipment, two large seating areas (We have had 10 people aboard for a sail and there was plenty of room - advantage of catamarans!).Aside from some cosmetics that you may wish to improve, she is ready to sail and motor, so if you need to relocate she will be up to it straight away. She cruises along happily at 5 knots.My husband will be there most days this week if you wish to view, we will be 0pen to 0ffers from visitors, so don't be shy. Thanks for looking!
