My pretty gaff rigged cutter, Oakleaf, is for sale. The hull was based on a Souwester 18, originally built by Barry Chisam at Penryn Bridge Boat Yard, this hull was designed from the outset to accommodate four berth cabin with raised coachroof and extended keel. To the best of my knowledge this design and layout was a one off custom project which at the time of construction was finished to a very good standard. The boat is now somewhat older and showing signs of its age and use. The hull has its original gelcoat, having never been painted however some small elements of joinery in the cockpit and cabin are showing signs of deterioration and will need some repair and refurbishment in places. The bulkhead between the main cabin and the engine compartment needs a partial replacement/repair as does the engine cover hatch in the cockpit. one vertical side of the cockpit is also in need of a repair/replacement. In general, the topsides would benefit from painting/refurbishment.Oakleaf comes with a set of sails in Tan Cloth that although bought by me second hand, were never used by the previous owner as his project never hit the water and in my ownership, have only been used for one season, as such are in excellent condition and probably worth as much as I'm likely to accept for the whole packageOakleaf is fitted with a Vire 7hp petrol inboard which I have never used however, I have had the carburettor professionally refurbished and rebuilt. (I have always used Oakleaf with my 5hp outboard which has been more than adequate for her but is not included in the sale). She comes with a four wheeled unbraked trailer.Viewing is recommended, she's a very pretty little gaffer with accommodation for four adults, which we have slept on board, however for a couple or young family, she is great and ideally suited. On the water, she sails sweetly and trounced any Shrimpers we came across as she carries a larger sail plan but sits deeper and heavier in the water making her feel safe and much bigger than she actually is.She's ashore near Falmouth on her trailer and seriously for sale at offers over £2000.00Thanks for looking and happy bidding.Contact me for a viewing or further information.
