Welcome to my NO RESERVE auction for my Carter 33 ¾ tonne fin keel sailing yacht. It was designed by Dick Carter fitted out by Thames Marine in Plymouth. (In the 1976 World Champions held in the UK, Carters were the top scoring production yacht of the series.) The Carter 33 is a superb GRP superstructure sailing boat with exceptional accommodation facilities. LOA 10m (32’ 9”) Beam 3.5m (11’ 2”) Draft 1.82m (6’ 0”) · Antifouled last July 2016 and re-launched back in marina. · Built in 1974/5 and relaunched in 2004 after a major refit by Dickies of Bangor Ltd.· Lead fin keel · Encapsulated keel bolts, (GRP opened up and bolt are shiny!) · A new Yanmar 30hp engine (2004), shaft and propeller professionally installed at cost of over £7500 – (Receipts available).· New guard wires, all stanchion re bedded and deck strengthened in 2004;· New electronics professionally installed at cost of over £8000 in 2007 – (Receipts available).· Electronics includes forward facing underwater sonar (2007).· Most seacocks replaced 2016 – (Receipts available). · Has mast steps.· 2 recently fitted Antal No 40 Self-tailing winches in addition to the other Barlow winches.· Delta 16kg self launching anchor with 30m of 8mm galvanised chain. · Additional SARCA galvanised anchor. · Inner gland / stuffing box replaced in 2015. · Webasto Heating and programmer.LIFERAFT INCLUDED BUT HAS NOT BEEN SERVICEDENGINE: (2004) Yanmar 30hp – serviced April 2016 and starts first time. NOTE the Buyer will have to make new arrangements after this date. EXTRA INFO She is a very easy boat to sail and can be used single handed. She sails comfortably at cruising speed or faster if required. I have copies of some Bills of Sale from the previous owners. She is ready to sail away. REASON FOR SELLING: I am a Marine Surveyor and travel throughout the UK and am not getting as much use out of her now. This boat just needs a good home! GUIDE PRICE: Just over 6 years ago it was sold for £17,995. However in the present financial climate I am offering the boat as NO RESERVE and it sells for whatever it reaches on Ebay. THERE IS NO BUY IT NOW PRICE. IT’S NOT PERFECT: She is an old boat and not perfect, and the interior is dated and reflects this; however much of the upholstery is only a couple of years old. Two new roof hatches but one leaks slightly; There is only a cold water pressurised system which we don’t use; instead we have bottled water for any drinks. There is a slight 6mm hull deflection due to previous strengthening sometime in the vessel’s past, this was done many years ago and is not regarded as significant. In the bilges, the GRP encapsulating the keel bolts was opened up for inspection and the GRP has not been tidied up; however it is handy to have keel nuts and washers visible. The LPG system, stove renewed in the last few years; however we have never used it. NOTE: This is not an exhaustive list of faults, anyone wanting to purchase should engage a marine surveyor before bidding on the vessel (I can’t survey my own boat). NOTE: The vessel is sold as seen with no warranty given or implied. NOTE MOORING: The present marina berth is paid up until the end March, you may be able to take it over; however, you would need to check with the marina.
