I am the third owner of this really cool ski boat. The original owner bought it new and dry docked it until 1992. The second owner bought it in 1992 and bought a new Haulrite trailer for it and that is why the trailer is so much newer than the boat. I bought the boat in 1998. The second owner passed away and his wife did not have the boat winterized the year he died, so the engine block broke. When i purchased it, I didn't know the block was cracked, so in the process of figuring out what was wrong with the engine, I put new manifolds on it thinking that was the reason for water in the cylinder.Well, that was not the problem; the block was cracked. So at that point I needed a block and a total rebuild. I put a new 340 block, reground the crank, new pistons, new rings, bearings, cams, lifters, new carburetor, and all the machine work. I had well over $3500.00 in all the parts and machine work. Since then, I have only put about 20 hours on the engine. The whole boat only has 276 hours on it. The boat is in very goos condition. The last time I had it out, I hit the wall in the lock. It damaged the trim on the one side and scratched the fiberglass. I did buy the new trim moulding and did the body work but never painted it. It is in primer and an easy fix. It is still operable. It has a velvet drive that works well. It is a great boat but our family does not have time for it. I hope it can find a good home. The trailer will probably need new tires to go any distance. Call with any questions not answered here: 412-558-7853. Thank you for your interest! |
