We rescued this charming old sailing boat a couple of years ago and had great plans to restore it but we have now decided that it is one project too far! We didn't learn a great deal about it when we acquired it but this is what we were told; 'Thistle'  was built just before or after the war in Norfolk. It is clinker built of mahogany and is 18 feet long with a timber mast and a gaff rigg. It has a sliding keel which received a professional repair to stop a leak about three years ago. There are a couple of broken ribs and it has not been in the water in our ownership but it was beautifully made when new. It has some magnificent bronze fittings which must be worth more than our start price. It is sitting on our car trailer so is not on damp ground but it will need a substantial restoration but is a very worthwhile project (in our opinion!) Do come and have a look over her if you can, if not I can take any more photos as required and please be aware it does not come with a trailer.   It is offered without reserve so you bid to buy.
