ARCTIC TERN ( as yet un-named, that's for the new owner to choose!)Beautiful , New, Iain Oughtred designed "Arctic Tern" Double-ended 'Beach Boat'18'2" x 5'4".Heaps of photos on Facebook . look up:Hhe Tyson
The photos are posted to the public so anyone can see them without becoming "Friends"!Balanced Lug Rig with 2 reefing points, made by Walker sails.Equipped with Anchor and line, Oars and Custom made stainless-steel rowlocks, Tan-brown sail. Bilge pump. Dry stowage lockers fore and aft. also serve as buoyancy. Built-in outboard well to suit small 2.5 to 3.5 HP outboard. The well has a flush fitting "Plug" that matches the hull's strakes so when rowing or sailing their is no cavity to degrade performance.Trailer included ($3500) value. ( The trailer is extra heavy-duty for the size of the boat) Registered until November 2017The building plans will also be included, so if you want to modify the rig or change the rudder to a kick-up one, they are there.This boat is built out of premium components: Hoop Pine Plywood clinker construction, Blackwood, Celery Top Pine trim .Built by a very experienced builder. Bruce Tyson.(20+ wooden boats built. Regularly has a boat at the Wooden Boat show)The boat is new; looking for an owner who will use her and enjoy her..!. She's had a trial sail to check that all functions as it should...and does ( The pictures).The boat has been on display at the 2017 Tasmanian Wooden Boat Show.The boat is new and has only been launched once. To have this boat built using the same quality materials would cost in the region of $35000 to $40000. I was quoted this price by a well known Southern Tasmanian boat builder.(Denman Marine)
We can't drop the price anymore! What we are asking will just about cover the building cost, so no profit on the labour involved in building her!Local Pickup is the only option. I don't know why the add is saying postage to the U.S! I can't seem to change this with the new ebay listing format!Prefer a Tasmanian buyer, Mainland Australian buyers are welcome but they will have to pay the cost of the Bass Strait Ferry both ways to collect the boat.
