Classic motor boat1940's River day cruiser / classic gentlemans launch runabout. This boat is very pretty and has been with just two owners from new. Built in 1946 by Jago & Sons of Leigh on Sea, Essex. Apparently this is the last one in existence.Full bare wood restoration, all the old wood was stripped of paint and varnish. The hull was then painted in Blakes marine primer finished with blakes marine enamel in old English white. The upper decks and transom are varnished with 'Le Tonkinois' high quality varnish - one of the best tired out there, no cheap rubbish. Newly retrimmed interior seats and side panels. The has not been in the water since restored, only finished last week. There is no rot anywhere, it was garaged its whole life, and still is now. Any inspection or survey welcome. The boat is completely made from mahogany with teak decks. Expensive wooden moto lita steering wheel, quilted and diamond stitched white leather seats, very clean Ford E93A engine that was restored a few years ago, I cannot guarantee this but that's what I was told. The engine has done approx 5 hours since then. Look at the pictures, it's very clean indeed! The rudder is stainless steel and is all connected and working. I added some fuel and had the engine started yesterday, but only for a short time as it needs to be in the water for cooling. It sounds excellent, and considering its a classic ford sidevalve engine, as used in old ford prefects, etc... it's fairly quite. Most of the deck fittings are new, it's a shame that the originals were lost a few years ago, so I had them replaced at a cost. The boat has had a fourtune spent during the restoration. New seat coverings, side panels, etc... the costs just spiral with these kind of projects, but the end result does look well. Pictures were all taken today, it was a bit of a dull and windy day! Looks even better shining in the sunshine.Spares are in a crate, things like coil pack, starter motor, etc... even a spare gearbox that is worth a bit on its own. The Ford e93a marinised engine is a sought after engine and expensive to obtain on its own, over £2500 for a newly rebuilt one. There is a few really simple jobs that need doing, new fuel line needs to be fitted, very simple job. Also needs a new choke cable, again not a big job and I will try and get these done this week...but no promises as I'm working a 7 day week. As I say they are such simple jobs that you can do if you have the time. It comes with a battery, but I cannot guarantee it's any good, however it's holding a charge. It's a standard 12v car battery in anycase. As people say...The pictures speak a thousand words. Study them and come and take a look is my the best advice.Trailer is included, its very solid and strong...maybe over engineered for the size of the boat. But it will last! It tows perfectly and at 60mph with no problem. I have done 600 miles with the boat/trailer on the back of me so I can assure it tows great. It's a shame to see this boat go, but it's taking up half my workshop and needs to go to a loving home. And must be within eBay rules. If your offer is accepted, a PayPal deposit is required.Delivery can be arranged to anywhere in the U.K. Email me for a price.
