This is a 1975 Burland 26 River cruiser in need of a little tlc etc. Ha s a safety certificate until May 2018 and a River and canal licence until end of June 2017. Currently moored in a beautiful marina near Burton on Trent at a cost of £99 a month and it is paid up until the end of june 2017.Work wise,,, STRIDER needs a new rubbing strake all round and a good lick of paint. Also the interior toilet wall has been taken down by the previous owner so this will need reinstating. Canopy is good and it has a 130 watt solar panel charging the batteries. A new porta loo is on board and a PASCAL ATKEY Pansy charcoal burner that is waiting to be fitted. A fold up Brompton bike is on board also. The electrics are working great also 240v is installed with hook up lead etc.Lock keys and new mooring ropes plus other spares are there to.Gas cooker with grill and oven also a water boiler that works and a small gas fire.No front bedroom cushions as these rotted and so were thrown away. interior lighting is 12v and all in working order. interior could do with a spruce up but as ive said this is a fixer upper!!.Powering STRIDER is a Ford 1800 diesel with a Enfield Z drive which is in perfect working order. Impeller changed last week as motored the boat for about 50 miles and before setting off found no water pumping so changed impeller and away it went. also now a spare impeller on board. This lovely boat was to be our holiday home but as another larger boat has been offered nearer our home in somerset we have decided to sell STRIDER.If you have about a week off work and are good with DIY and a paint brush then this boat will be as good as new again. I have an extensive paper file on the boat including manuals etc.It also has a VHF radio and a depth sounder that all work, also the steering is good and all throttles and cables etc.Boat was lifted out about 15 months ago and was anti-fouled and had new anodes fitted, also new skin fittings etc. please note that we are over 3 hours away from the boat so only serious buyers are welcome to bid and ask as many questions as you like.It will be sold as seen with no warranties on parts etc etc, just as i had when i purchased it.If your looking for a roomy fully funcioning river cruiser that requires a little fixing up then this is the boat, as we have had lovely times on Strider and she just chugs along lovely.Im starting the bidding low and will let the auction run until the end Good luck and happy bidding.
On 04-Apr-17 at 12:17:06 BST, seller added the following information:The length is just under 28f long and 6ft10" wide which is perfect for all canal locks. Also i have a Enfield Z drive bolt on extendable rudder to make steering a lot more less vague. This needs to be fitted. The table drops down to make a double bed and it still has the wardrobe and extra draws. Loads of extras and spares also the black out canopy blinds that popper on the inside. Just to add that to all interested parties so far, Burland Boats were built in Staffordshire and this is a MK 2. Automatic bilge pump is also fitted and working perfectly. The starter battery is less than 5 months old and the leisure battery is holding charge perfectly as well. The boat does not leak on deck anywhere and the windows open and close. The wooden rubbing strake was taken off the one side and is on deck to be matched against new timber, but i would replace with more modern rubber as its easier to fit and more pleasing to the eye.We are looking also for a large Camper van if you think you might have a suitable vehicle to interest us.please ask questions and only bid if you are serious. A deposit will be required as soon as it has sold.
