Junior racing hovercraft, Ideal as a 1st racing craft, or just mucking about in a field / lake
Deliberately built to suit the light weight of younger children - suits ages 7 to 13 who would struggle to control a full size and heavier craft (you can start racing at 11)
first built in 2015 using the latest technology to reduce weight and maximise performance, this craft is powered by a simple single cylinder Rotax 253 engine, driving the single 9 blade fan through a toothed belt drive.
Controls include a lever throttle, and twin rudders steered from the handle bars to make this a very responsive, simple and easy craft to drive. It is packed full of buoyancy providing plenty of crumple zone in the event of a accident and it meets all racing construction regulations.
First built in 2015, then raced by my daughter in 2016 it achieved 6th overall in the national series, and 10th in the World Championships.
Measuring approx 8' long and 5' wide it is smaller than most racing craft as it is specificaly designed for youger children who dont have the reach or or weight to have full control of a full (adult) size racing craft. The small size and light weight mean that a simple and reliable low power engine (22 BHP) can be used, again allowing youger children to focus on learning to drive rather than going to fast to early. Having said all that its has a surprising turn of speed for its power (est 35mph) and can cope with an 80kg adult and even two up (kids) as shown in the pictures.
Reason for selling is that having spent the year learning to race in this craft, my daughter now has designs on her older brothers more powerful craft, so this needs to go to make room for his new machine. Comes with spare segments, rudder, belt and race log book
