BRUCE ROBERTS MAURITIOUS 43 YACHTThe yacht is moored at  Villa Real Santa Antonio in Portugal (not Great Yarmouth) More photographs on flickr :We did have Irisella up for sale in 2016 and did receive several enquiries about her. In the end we changed our minds and decided we could not part with her. However just before Xmas I was very ill and we have now decided to sell her and sadly bring our boating to an end.The main change since last year is that the exterior has been painted with 2-pack epoxy primer and 2-pack polyurethane topcoat. Because of our situation we are also leaving everything on her apart from our personal effects. You will see from the list below that you will have everything you need to sail and maintain her.Great opportunity to own a proven round the world sailer and marvellous liveaboard.Launched in September 2000 Iris Ella has been everything we hoped for. She has been very comfortable to live on for months at a time and has never let us down in extreme conditions.Between her launch in 2000 and 2006 we were based in Lowestoft and sailed extensively down the east coast and had several extended trips to Holland and Belgium. In 2006, in search of a warmer climate, I sailed her to Villa Real Santa Antonio in Portugal where we are still based. We are on the Rio Guardiana which is the easten boundary between Portugal and Spain and is a marvelous cruising area. The moorings are paid until September and currently are 3300 euros per annum including club membership and discount. There should be no problems transferring this to the new owners if required.During the trip down we had a force 8 gale in Biscay which she just took in her stride, more than you could say for the crew!  Following this I have no doubt that Iris Ella would take you safely wherever you wanted to sail. The hull was professionally built by Seasteel and fitted out by myself in mahogany. The hull is 6mm steel and the superstructure and decks are 3mm. Following grit blasting inside and out, all steel was painted with several coats of two pack epoxy and the exterior was then over coated with two pack polyurethane. All windows and hatchs are toughened glass, no plastic. Engine is a Ford 2722 85 hp 4 litre 4 cylinder diesel and the gearbox PRM both supplied new by Norfolk Maine Diesels. In 2004 a Vetus 95kgf bowthuster was installed which has proved invaluable when maneuvering in marinas.Iris Ella is a centre cockpit, cutter rigged sloop, easily handled by two entirely from the cockpit with the steel pilot house provided excellent protection from the weather. All sails, spars and furling gear including in mast reefing were supplied and installed by Z spars. New UV strips on Genoa and Staysail  2016.New wheel house cover 2016. If the boat and the lifestyle appeals to you give us a call on 01493 670885 or e-mail  LAYOUTMaster cabin aft, large island double bed, numerous cupboards, lockers and ceramic wash basin.Guest cabin, v berth with fill in to make large double. lee cloths.Large galley area, double S/S sinks, water filter with separate tap, Neptune gas cooker with oven and grill.
