Hi all This is my first boat (I now have a second). It’s an AVON 3.5m RIB and trailer and 20hp Mariner 2-stroke engine. I bought the boat & trailer back in 2014. I stripped it back to nothing and rebuilt it. Stripped down the deck. Re-glassed, repainted and added non-slip beads. With the hull. I stripped it back, filled any scratches, put Kevlar on the keel, lots of 2-pack undercoat and re-painted. The transom. I stripped it down, strengthened it, re-painted. I added a modern console with a cushioned seat and backrest. (I had a second seat that could be fixed to the rear but I need that! But the bolt fixing holes are there). Lots of storage space, plus a battery. I fixed a speedo, rev counter and charging gauge. Also a white light for night fishing. The tubes have a few patches. But the front and RH side tube stay up with good pressure for over a week. The LH tube stays up with good pressure for over 3 days. I re-wired the electrics with a new fuse box. I moved the new 22L fuel tank to the front in a seat/box. The engine is a Mariner 20hp 2-stroke 2 cylinder engine. Early 1990’s I think. I’ve over hauled the carb regularly, got a later power head, dismantled, inspected it, replaced crankshaft bearings. The engine also has a pull start fitted so if your battery fails you can always start the engine with that. Tested the compression 8/04/2017. No.1 = 144Psi, No2 = 141 PS1. So very good compression. Probably could do with a tune up. I got the un-braked trailer at the same time. Stripped it, added new suspension and hubs and fitted new winch. So you get all of the above. 2 Keys. Plus a printed out manual and lot of other info. The boat is a great boat. I’ve used it mainly for fishing. Handles a Force 6 well. Great for jumping waves. Nice size for very easy launching by one person. It also fits easily on a drive way or in a garage. Easy to move around on trailer. Good fuel economy. I’ve put the most recent videos (2/4/2017) of the RIB in action on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeHQVMNToHE and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuSdkXUaGVA. Feel free to message with any questions. Can be collected from near Rye East Sussex or Lewisham S.E. London.
