Freeman 22 classic river boat,Ive owned this for the past 3 years and done a fair few miles in her along the severn sharpness canal and the river Avon.Shes fitted with a ford petrol engine same engine that was found in ford cars of the 60,s (1 litre) very cheap to run couple of gallons will do a good days cruising with a steady throttle.Much more economical than the 15hp i had on a previous boat.At the end of 2015 i took the boat out of the water for the winter intending on antifouling the bottom.However i soon found out some of the pit falls of buying a boat in the water.Although the hull is sound all the running gear was shot witch came as a surprise seeing how well she ran.The rudder was bent the prop bent and the shaft badly worn, Cutlass was also knackered.So over the winter i had the rudder repaired the shaft refurbished and a new propeller and cutlass fitted all the work came to almost £1000.All new window seals fitted 2014Inside the boat we had all new covers and carpet fitted start of 2016.You'll see the interior is not original like a freeman should but it has brightened up the inside of the boat. The hull has also been painted. There is a 2 gas burner pumped cold water and 12 volt lighting throughout.The paint work is reflected in the price, An original freeman unpainted would be upwards of £6000 without a trailer. The Trailer is galvanised and included in the full asking price this alone is worth near £2000 or the boat can be bought without it if required for £37502014 it had all new bearings brakes including cables 4 new wheels and tyres only been in fresh water since. Is a fair size boat to pull i expect best part of 2 tons boat & trailer, However the trailer is well balanced and i've towed it with a Transport T5 nicely at 60The boat is currently out of the water and sat on the trailer viewing in Ebbw vale South Wales.I'm not always able to answer the phone during working hours so a text or answer message is best.My phone automatically blocks withheld numbers.
