This auction is for an Optimist dinghy, originally made in Denmark by Winner. It served in training many young sailors.
It's still in a good working condition. No major hull scratches. No major parts are broken or missing. Just wear and tear adequate to the boat's age.
What needs to be added is one aft buoyancy bag that costs $20. Two other are in a good shape. Also, the bulkhead is a bit worn out and it needs to be replaced. Nevertheless, for now, the boat can be sailed as it is. No major problems. All rig - the mast, boom and sprit as well as the sail its battens and all lines are in a perfect shape and can serve for many years. The foils - rudder and the dagger board are made with playwood and they are well maintained.
Overall this dingy is a great starting boat for a first time sailors. Both of our kids a 12 year boy and a 10 year girl took their first sailing lesson on this boat. They loved it, but now that they matured this dinghy is to small for them so we decided to sell it. Happy bidding.
