Yellow hulled Beneteau First 211 called Sunrise with a comprehensive 19 page survey carried out on January 10th 2017 by a local surveyor. Not only are you welcome to see the survey, he is happy for anyone to contact him to discuss the report. Built 2000, Comes with a recently serviced 4 wheel braked road trailer, designed specifically for the 211. New standing rigging 2016New stack pack fitted 2016.The sails were serviced for the 2016 season.
The superb Yamaha 8hp engine has an electric start and has recently been fully serviced at our local Yamaha dealer She is currently out of the water and is sitting on her trailer in Penryn,Cornwall The sail wardrobe consists of 1 Main sail, 2 Genoas, and a Spinnaker. She has the advantage of being fitted with the factory mast raising and lowering kit, making it possible to raise and lower the mast single handed, which makes it a very practical and true trailer sailer. With its deep/long wind up swing keel, it sails like a much larger boat, with excellent performance both on and off the wind. She is a true 4 berth, with double berth fore peak and 2 long side berths and has tinted wash boards, teak toe rail and teak cockpit seating bases. On the hull, there are a few minor blemishes, and small areas of light gel coat crazing which you would expect on a 17 year old boat. It is also possible to see an area that has been repaired to a very high standard at some stage in her life. I have recently had the hull polished and many of the marks referred to in the survey are no longer visible. The hull has been antifouled so is ready for the new seasonFifteen areas of the hull were tested for moisture and the readings were fine, with no signs of osmosis. Designed by Groupe Finot, the Beneteau First 211 is a small high performance yacht designed to be simple to sail, and able to take the ground or be trailed. The words 'pocket rockets' tend to be used to describe these boats! The hull of the Beneteau First 211 is solid GRP, with sandwich construction for the deck moulding. There is foam buoyancy at bow and stern, guaranteeing unsinkability. The ballasted drop keel is raised by a manual winding winch in the cabin, and the retractable keel allows easy transport of the boat as well as drying out if required, supported level by the twin rudders. She has also been fitted with beaching leg attachments, which would make her even more stable when drying out, though I do not have the actual legs.
The sail plan has a non-overlapping jib to keep sheet loads down, and a large spinnaker to achieve high speeds downwind. With almost 6 ft draught with the keel down, and twin rudders for control, upwind performance is also excellent.
An ultra-modern small fast cruiser/racer - in style very much a miniaturised Open 60, the Beneteau First 211 offers very high sailing performance for her size, plus simple accommodation for up to four. The keel makes her self-righting, and foam buoyancy renders her unsinkable. .
The cabin of the Beneteau First 211 has four berths, with a vee-double forward, and two quarter berths aft. Amidships, either side of the drop keel mechanism structure, is a simple galley, with Calor gas ring and sink with pumped water. The accommodation is very simple, but nicely finished. A chemical toilet sits under the fore peak Vee berth. You are welcome to view prior to purchase, just call me on 07966 425774 to arrange a convenient time.
