Invader 20 for sale - Great small or starter sailing Yacht, sleeps 4 Excellent small yacht for someone who wants the ability to sail alone or as an easy to handle, fun, first yacht. Straightforward design which offers low maintenance costs and nothing complex. Key Specifications: LOA: 20 feet Beam: 7’ 6” Draught: 2’ 6” (bilge keels) Displacement: 1800kg Hull material: FibreglassPropulsion: 6HP Yamaha Sail-drive 4-stroke Outboard engine'Kachina' is an Invader 20, 6m long and based on the very popular Snapdragon 600 design from Thames Marine. She was built about 1978. She is an easy sailing boat which performs well in all cruising situations. Main features:  Bilge (twin) keel design so she can be moored on (much cheaper) drying moorings and be sailed up shallow creeks Sleeps 4 people in one double cabin and two 6' long single berths  Simple and inexpensive to maintain  Suitable for sea or inland water use Outboard engine - Yamaha 6hp, 4-stroke, Sail-drive, purchased (2nd hand) in VGC from dealer in 2010 (now due a service)Kachina was designed to be able to take an inboard engine, but one was never fitted and we have always used an outboard. We replaced the one we inherited with the boat with a more efficient, sail-drive model that charges the battery and provides more thrust (although this is now due a service). Below deck there is a great deal of storage space and a roomy saloon with 5’ headroom. The cabin features 4 berths in two cabins (a V berth in the forward cabin and two 6’ long quarter berths in the main cabin), a small galley and a chart table. Work to do:  She needs to be antifouled, the engine serviced, the foresail professionally cleaned (optional), the companionway washboards + both hatch covers require either re-varnishing or replacement, she is due a new battery, and overall she would benefit from a good clean.  The ropes (sheets) would benefit from a wash in the washing machine prior to the new season. We have owned Kachina for 9 years and enjoyed sailing her in the Solent. The reason for sale is that the friends we bought her with have moved to Australia and since then we have used her much less.  The previous owner had her for 4-5 years when she was used as a family boat.Kachina is currently moored in Keyhaven at the western end of the Solent, and can be seen from the shingle bank. InventorySailing & Handling: Main Sail (round-boom roller reefing) in good condition (replaced new 28th April 2012)  Main Sail Cover new 28th April 2012 (replaced new with Main Sail) Roller reefing Genoa (fore sail) replaced new from Seateach Sails in June 2011 New rudder 2005  3 Spinlock PX cam cleats fitted 2006  2 Barton/Girdlestone G8 sheet winches, new 2008  Anchor  Halyard, sheets and lines new in 2003Electrical & Instruments:  Navman 7100 DSC VHF radio with full GPS interface & MMSI number linked to MCA register

There is no trailer so the buyer will have to sail the boat away from its current mooring or arrange transport. If you want, once you have purchased the boat, there is a facility at its current location for it to be bought out anti-fouled and serviced before sailing away (at new owners cost and to be arranged by the new owner). If this is of interest we can provide contact details for this to be arranged.
