Class:
Description Country/Region of Manufacture: United Kingdom
for sale: my old home
very short version.
engine needs work, won't start after wet fuel. it's livable but needs updating and blacking.
selling as a project. I have a new boat which is taking all my time and money so I'm selling this so I don't have to tow it around.Currently near ponders end on the lee.long version:1970 28 foot springer with raised kitchen and shower section.
I'll be as honest as I can possably be but I am selling it as a project as it has a few things that need sorting out. It was my first boat and although I love her I needed more space.pros: has shower, gas boiler, cooker , 4 ring hob, practically new 250 litre water tank, new reclaimed vintage mahogany rosewood work surfaces and sink, wood burner stove, usb charge point, wiring for a solar system but no panel or battery, auto bilge pump, 12v fridge and BSS till 2020
obligatory ropes windlass and CRT key included.I've been living on her since September and it was great! insulation is good and its nice to drive.
If you can start the engine it's ready to live on.Currently near ponders end on the lee.
cons:
mainly engine. It got water in the fuel and hasn't been loved the way it should. its a kingfisher kd14 diesel with water cooling. someone came out and bled the fuel system to get it started but it was running with white smoke after that. After a few days it started stalling at low revs and now won't start.could be simple, could be expensive. I don't know.
New water pump needed at some pointas there is a slow leak when the cooling system is open to the river and the starter is a bit smokey. It has a box of spare parts with it that I never got round to looking at properly.Needs a solar panel and at least 2 leisure batteriesThe wood needs replacing or epoxying and filling in a few placesa couple of windows have cracks but i have replacement glass for the round onesI have no idea when it was last blacked. at least 5 years!new plywood on rear deck would be nice.conclusion...
its a project boat. sold as is due to engine woes.
great little first floaty home if you know how to fix engine or can pay someone to do it. I was going to just strap an outboard on it to get moving but never got round to it.will need towing or fixing in 2 weeks if you are on CC licence, obviouslyAs ever usual eBay rules apply. bid to buy not to view and if you gave any questions message me.
As it's up for fast sale I probably would take offers over 2000. but it might go really cheap! good luck!X
Beth.
