Uffa Fox International 14, sail number K492. Built in 1946 for a Mr M R Burge, who was both Rear and Vice Commodore of Henley Sailing Club between1947 and 1952. He was very successful racing this dinghy, winning numerous cups and cash prizes. The dinghy is being sold in aid of Cancer Research UK. The dinghy was seaworthy when taken out of the water in approximately 1990, and was stripped back and revarnished by an experienced shipwright with a passion for wooden boats. The dinghy has been in storage ever since i.e. for the last 25+ years. It has its mast (including basic rigging - see photos), centre board, 3 sails (showing signs of age and repair - see photos), oars, but needs a boom, rudder and rigging will need attention. The dinghy has been sitting on a old road trailer that is also included, tyres may need changing, so buyer will need to arrange appropriate transport from Crawley (mast stored in separate location to dinghy, but approx 5 miles from the dinghy)I would dearly love to see this back on the water and have therefore set the reserve at my minimum fund raising level in order to attract someone who has a passion for classic boats and who would be keen to take on a limited project. The proceeds, less selling fees, will all go to Cancer Research UK, with payment by cash on collection.
