1986 Boston Whaler 17’ Newport. The Newport model was built as a family friendly boat, using the 17' Montauk hull. Boat is in good running condition, maintained by a mechanical engineer. The boat is turnkey, ready to fish!! Shows it's age in scratches and oxidized gel coat that needs to be polished. Bottom coat paint will last through this Summer.
ENGINE: 1986 90hp Mercury in-line 6 cylinder "Tower of Power" two stroke runs strong, Engine compression is high, and consistent, at 140 PSI (It's marked on the power head for each cylinder). Water pump impeller was changed at Nauset Marine in Orleans, and they checked the compression while they were at it. The power trim motor is new as of last year, with a spare power trim unit which can be repaired or sold as partsIncludes 3 Mercury lower units (I got as spares, but thankfully have never needed to use) Full set of fluids (2 stroke oil, lower gear lube + squeeze tub installer, Stabil for storing over Winter), ear muffs for winterizingSpare starter solenoids, and spark plugsNew carb rebuild kit (never used!) has gaskets, O-rings, needle valve, etcComes with two Mercury factory service manuals.TRAILER Cox one axle, two wheels, with extra rim + tire mounted on tongueWired for turn signalsRollers at loading end, padded bumpers for bunksACCESORIES Has blue original Mills Brothers mooring cover.Comes with boat & trailer cover.
