Description Condition: Used Year: 1978 Make: Cape Dory
I bought this boat last November with grand plans of sailing now that I live near the coast. I was looking for a year before buying this great sailboat and it is in very good condition for its age. Unfortunately I haven't been able to move it north to my home area, I haven't been able to find a slip near home within my budget and a whole lot of other personal reasons have kept me from enjoying this the way I intended. So I must sell it - My loss is definitely your gain on this. The listing price basically reflects slip fees due to the Marina as I now just have to put this dream behind me and pick it up again some day in the future. So to the boat details, she is hull number 648, the Cape Dory 25 is a full keel sailboat that is a small but very capable coastal cruising sailboat. Classic lines and bulletproof construction make this a joy to sail. There is tons of information online about these boats and they have a very loyal and active owners club.OA: 24′ 10″
LWL: 18′ 0″
Beam: 7′ 3″
Draft: 3′ 0″Displacement: 4,000 lbs. Ballast: 1,700 lbs.
Sail Area: 264 sq. ft. Bridge Clearance: 31′ 6″She comes practically ready to use:Three sails are included (Main, working jib and a 120 Genoa). The standing rigging is in very good condition as it was replaced in 2013. The running rigging is serviceable but I would replace it before venturing too far offshore.Decks and cabin sole are SOLID, no soft areas to worry about.Anchor, Chain and rode on board.Teak work is in good condition but could use some cosmetic TLC.I have a completely clear NC title in hand, 2017 Registration fees are paid / current. Please don't ask me to take you out for a day-sail, If I could do that for everyone that wants to go I would be out enjoying her instead of saying goodbye! No reserve auction. No Games, just want to move this treasure to someone who can enjoy her the way I wanted to.
