1985 Prindle Catamaran on untitled trailer. Boat was purchased at a charity auction last fall. I never rigged or sailed her. She appears to be intact and in sailable condition. The hulls do not leak, mast is straight, trampoline is intact with no tears and sails look good. Running rigging all appears to be there and is Harken or equivalent. I intended to use the boat but fishing got in the way. The Prindle 18 was designed for combined crew weights of 350 +. Geoff Prindle's idea was to provide a big, stable, fast catamaran with well behaved handling characteristics. Her thick asymmetrical hulls require no dagger boards and have tons of reserve buoyancy upfront to keep her from pitch polling. She should be well balanced and easy to handle. She is also easy to rig with only three stays to attach on her pivoting mast step. Loose footed main and roll up jib are easy to handle. She should provide good speed without the hair raising antics of other big performance catamarans. The trailer seems to be in road worthy condition, but I only towed her 10 miles from the auction. Lights are there, but I do not know if they work. Use and tow at your own risk.
