Reluctantly, here for sale is my beautiful Drascombe Longboat which has just been lovingly restored. She is in absolute stunning condition and is ready for sailing.
This Drascombe Longboat was built as an open boat in 1990 by John Whyte, formerly of Findhorn. The design based on a Drascombe Longboat was approved by John Watkinson of Drascombe. She appears on the Drascombe Association Website. The difference between her and a standard longboat is the fixed keel and rudder (she can cope with any weather ! ) plus the later added coach house with 2 berths. The boat is superbly built of Brunzell 10mm ply lapstrake and has sitka spruce spars.Completely revamped in 2007 /08 by John S Hill Boatbuilders of Largs, specialists in restorations and repairs of classic boats, when a wheelhouse with 2 berths were added, at a cost of nearly £5,000. And Just been had a full restoration to bring her back to an immaculate condition in 2015. Details and invoice of the work carried out are in with the boat's extensive history and images supplied with the boat. She is a stunning boat as you can see from the images. I have added a range of previous and current images to this ad to give some of her history. Current state is de-rigged as on the trailer. She has fantastic sailing ability very much due to the fixed keel and rudder She is perfect for inshore sailing and coastline pottering. A real gentleman's yacht. Length 21’ 6” beam 6’ 7” draft is 4' 0" with fixed fin keel of 300 lbs ballast and rudder. She weighs approximately 750 kilos including rigging and sails etc. The double axle trailer which is included in the sale weighs 500 kilos. Total boat and trailer 1,250 kilos, Engine is a Honda 5 hp four stroke, which has done less than 60hrs, she has remote controls in the cockpit and is in fantastic condition - complete with 12v outlet for charging the battery.

The trailer is relatively new (2011) a super speed of Brightlingsea capable of towing 2 tonnes, recent new brake cables and linings. The trailer is bespoke to the yacht and has never been in the water (I've always had the boat lifted in and out the water.)Gear also included in sale: Full cockpit cover (2012), foredeck cover and aft cover. Plastimo roller reefing. Whisker pole. Bilge pump. Bow mounted Anchor, chain and warp, Garmin fishfinder in stern well and unused boom over cover and more. The boat has an amazing history and a huge amount of literature supporting her history. She has a photograph album and images showing all her history from original design as an open boat, the coach house restoration by John. I have a photo album of all her rigging and how to rig her. All the running rigging is labelled at the end of the season. So very easy to get her on the water and be on your way sailing !
Locking sliding hatch and washboards give access to cabin. Cabin has 2 berths with mattresses, new Origo spirit cooker, toilet, washbasin and a good amount of stowage and storage and two portholes. Sails are in very good condition, with roller reefing mizzen, roller reefing jib, both with uv strips and mainsail, with two reefing points. Sail areas are Main 90 sq ft, Jib 55 sq ft, Mizzen 27 sq ft. The main and mizzen are fitted to booms and the jib mast head. The main has topping lift, lazy jacks and three reefing points. Built to be a very strong sea boat with thicker planking than standard and additional standing rigging. All running rigging runs back to the cockpit
for single-handed sailing. Lazy jacks etc. She comes with an extensive inventory with a detailed book of bills and History.

This is a very unique boat and is in truly stunning condition, she really needs to be seen to be fully appreciated.
