I am selling this for a friend who has left his sailing career behind him in his mid seventies its in a field seating doing nothing needs a new home phone me for full details it will be sold to the anyone that wants it Gerry on 07964451177 Its a great boat I do not know how to put pictures on this site SEEKER 31 5 berth fin keeled sloop Designed in 1970 by the renowned naval architect Angus Primrose, who was a prolific designer of good study yachts. He designed Sir Francis Chichester’s Gypsy Moth IV and the Moody 33 amongst many others that include the Seal 26, Warrior 35, Voyager 35 and Challenger 35. Moulded by Gardas Marine (UK) of Poole in 1982 and supplied as hull and deck moulding with keel to current owner for home completion. Commissioned in 1984 and raced regularly in and around Poole Harbour. Length 9.2m (31.00ft) beam 2.9m (9.50ft) and draft of 1.6m (5.5ft) with a displacement of 4210kg (4.1tons). Steering is by a WHITLOCK pedestal stainless steel wheel via a torque rod to a skeg hung rudder. There is the facility to fit an emergency tiller if required. Fitted out with teak and iroko joinery, BLAKES toilet and sea cocks, PETTER Mini Twin 14hp diesel engine with a 14x10 two bladed prop, 60 litre (12gals) stainless steel fuel tank, SEATREK log, depth gauge, fluxgate compass and mono chart plotter, RAYTHEON Apelco VXE200 VHF radio. Equipped with two No.1 genoas, a No.2 and a No.3, all with luff groove tapes to be mounted in a forestay twin foil for quick changes together with two spinnakers. The sails are controlled by LEWMAR 40 genoa winches, LEWMAR 30 control lines winches and LEWMAR 16 spinnaker winches – all self tailing. This classic yacht has been raced hard and now needs an enthusiastic owner who can give it some tender loving care, hence the price of £8000 or near offer to include a laying up demountable cradle.
