Kettenburg Sailboat/Yacht K-40 # 24 of 40 built, varnish inside and out, nonskid, done last year, sails repaired new head. Universal diesel motor runs great low hours 4 cylinder.Bottom painted 11months ago, also replaced shaft bearing, Two Anchors, newer paint in cockpit and interior, Classic wood boat. Comes with main sail, Jib, Genoa. No Solicitors private party's only. Depth finder, VHF, New shore power, TV w/ CD player 12v/ 120v, pressurized water with hot water heater when plugged into shore power, Captains chair, Was converted to a wheel, previous owner spent about $58000.00 on upgrades and repairs.Well maintained, classic designed and built by Kettenburg Boat Works in San Diego. Hull is 7/8" mahogany, bronze fastened on steam bent oak frames. Deck is wood, fiber glassed over with non-skid. 5,000 lbs. ballast. Sleeps 6. During the 1930's, when recreational boating dropped off, the company found new business in the construction of a specialized 'Albacore' fishing boat. During the WWII, the firm received a contract to build 'plane rearming boats' for the military.
At the end of the war, George designed the PCC or PACIFIC COAST CLASS which proved to be nearly unbeatable on the race course as well as easy for a family to handle.
The K-38, designed by Paul Kettenburg, was introduced in 1948.
This was followed by the KETTENBURG 40 of which nearly 40 were built over a period of 7 years, an impressive number for boats of this type during this period. Boat needs nothing to get out and sail. Boat sold as is and where is. No warranties or Guarantee applies.
