Want a Glastron that will continue to appreciate with age? Here's a classic Glastron Carlson ski/speed boat, complete with classic Glastron gel coat and a muscle car profile hard to find in today's market. This boat was always kept indoors until last year, the gel coat is in nice shape for a nearly 30 year old boat. It has a sporty 260 HP V8 Chevrolet Mercruiser engine with 4 barrel carb that runs great, throaty and strong. The interior has a snap out carpet and diamond dot flooring that's also in great shape. The enclosed bow provides storage for your paddle, life jackets, etc and you could even sleep in it if you wanted to. The boat is rated for 10 people but it would be hard to fit more than 6 in the boat. The swim platform is easy to get in and out of the water and the engine cover sun deck is nicely upholstered and in great condition. The boat could use a deep cleaning and if someone wanted to put it in their garage for the winter and go through it, it could be made to appear "as new". The motor starts instantly, runs as intended at 160 degrees and a bit hotter at idle when that big engine is not getting lots of water to keep in cool. At wide open throttle I suggest the boat will do 50 MPH or more. The floor & transom are solid, the gas tank, blower, water pump & thermostat were recently replaced. The navigation lights work, we have the perko stern light, everything is here. Currently registered, clean title in hand and clean trailer. The Trailer is the original Shorelander Trailer that came with the boat. We had all four springs replaced last year with heavy duty springs and all four hubs replaced with greaseless bearing buddy hubs. The lights aren't great but you can replace them for $30 or so. The trailer is a full roller trailer with fiberglass fenders and we trailered the boat from Salem, MA to Key West, FL last year without an issue (1740 miles). The winch is good but does not lock as it should but there is also a secondary safety chain once loaded on the trailer so nothing to worry about. we use an allen wrench to lock the gears on the main winch. The trailer is twin axle, has an extra (5th wheel) spare tire with brand new rubber and new wheel. Most of the tires were replaced in the last 18 months and all are pretty good. We have two other boats, this was just our Sunday driver. The radio does not work but is just disconnected, the fish finder/depth gauge same story. The fuel guage is not connected correctly and is easy to fix, the tank was replaced last year at a cost of $300 just ofr the tank, plus labor but the fuel sender wires were hooked up incorrectly. The water circulator pump is new as is the thermostat. The tilt trim was fully serviced two years ago but has a small leak in the hyudraulic system somewhere as it slowly loses fluid. It tilts and trims perfectly but if you use it a lot, you will need to add fluid. I am sure it is an easy fix. Mechanically the boat is a 9 out of 10, the engine is clean, great battery and new blower. The power steering works great. The bucket seats in the front had bad cracking on the seat bottoms. We took the bottoms off and have them being re-upholstered right now since they'd make your shorts wet from water. The color of the new uphostrey will likely not match the current colors, it was more a comfort fix than a restoration but it would be easy to match the colors and recover them again. The seat bottoms are still out at the upolsterer and I may have to mail the bottoms to you depending on when they are done. I leave Key West some time this week headed north and I may be willing to deliver the boat anywhere along the eastern seaboard or close by. I will be heading from our house in Key West to our summer house in Boston on the 9th of June and can deliver this boat anywhere on the eastern seaboard for 20 cents a mile (meet me anywhere along Rt 95 as I head north). The boat is sold as is but as a guaranteed runner when we meet. As any vehicle of this age, it's hard to agree to much more than that. Suffice it to say it RUNS GREAT and I expect it to continue to run great but again there are no guarantees due to age.
On Jun-04-17 at 03:36:36 PDT, seller added the following information:The work we had done on the trailer last year cost over $1000 for the new leaf springs, U bolts and bearings as well as the new wheels and tires. We did replace the lights on the trailer so they work as well. I mentioned in the earlier description that they could use replacement but then noticed we did have them replaced already. The boat, motor and trailer are worth about $5000 in the current condition and I've seen boats like this sell for $10,000 before on Ebay fully restored. Bid Now. The boat is currently in Key West, FL but we are driving to our summer house in Massachusetts later this week and can meet anyone alone route 95 north and will only charge 20 cents per mile to deliver the boat anywhere along the way.
