Pearly Miss Vintage Aluminium Speedboat 1957 Pearly Miss with original Johnson 18HP outboard.Stored for 3 years prior to which I used for 3 years on annual trips to Loch Awe.When I bought the boat and engine I spent £400 recommissioning the outboard...remember this has not been run for 3 years but it was winterised and I plan to have it running although this is not a condition of the sale. When I bought the outfit it had been stored for 40 years undercover. The owner before that was a London solicitor who from 1957 for a short period used the boat to commute to work daily along the Thames. The boat at that time was named Alrose (combination of husband and wife names). The second owner called the speedboat The Flying Zee...I think after their dog !? Lovely friendly maintenance free (almost) aluminium hull. I am addressing a couple of loose rivets but other than that we never had any issues. The windscreen has never been fitted as it was fabricated during the second ownership (£170). Three aluminium brackets need to be fashioned for the screen...an easy job if you're handy or inexpensive in a small workshop. We never bothered with the screen. The red loose heavy duty canvas seat covers were bespoke made by the last owners and they fit snugly over the original faded buttoned canvas seat covers. This is not a shiny pristine boat. It is very original and has a retro charm. These are becoming rare. Very easy to handle in and out of water. I have usually managed that on my own. In the water the ride is stable and comfortable. Powered by the 2 stroke 18HP Johnson the Pearly Miss will plane. I removed the Trakmark from the deck, gunnels, and engine bay because it was so faded. I have new Trakmark in a beige colour which I will happily provide the buyer with if they wish. If you don't know what this is it is nonslip diamond patterned pvc of sorts and needs to be adhered with a specialist adhesive such as Thixofix. I preferred the look of the bare aluminium...retro and a bit Flash Gordon...giving away my age !This is an early Pearly Miss (as I have understood) because of the substantial handwelded seams on heavy guage aluminium as opposed to the thinner guage riveted aluminium of later boats. No trailer included but if you need one I can offer a reliable one perfect for the boat at an agreed price.I am sorry to sell the boat but I have 2 other boats (inboards) to work, on and need the funds. Please come and view the Pearly if you are interested (Nottingham NG14). I would prefer you to do this rather than buy blind so to speak.Should you decide to buy the boat and need it delivering I can oblige after agreeing cost. Any questions to 07505 087987. UK bids only please and if you have less than 20 feedback please call me before bidding.Best of Luck and thank you for looking.
