This sailboat is an original inductee to the sailboat hall of fame. I've taken care of ORION since 1990 and she's been high and dry in Boston since I had to go to San Francisco and then to Kuwait. She needs a new owner that can enjoy her greatness. Check out the photos and please understand ORION has been on the hard for a long time and is maintained by the yard in storage.ORION is an east coast Pearson built in Rhode Island by hand in 1960 - commissioned in '61 and had 30 years early on that I know nothing about. I met ORION in 1991 and proceeded to rehabilitate the boat in a big way.- Rebuilt engine by hand with a mechanic- New fuel tank- New prop- Repaired all soft balsa deck using West System core- All chrome redone by Harley Davidson specialists- JRC radar- New standing rig- New BANKS sails (2000)- New interior upholstery - New Head- Spinnaker and rigging- New mahogany railsORION has a PHRF certificate and has been great at winning on numbers.I'd keep her but I live in Florida now and travel so much that it just makes no sense.I'm looking for an owner that understands ORION is a classic and has been on the hard for a LONG time by any standard.I have 5 Browned Boat Stands and the sails are stored at my home in Connecticut.Everything worked great when I stored her in Boston. Please let me know if you want more info. Please check out the ORION sister ship hauling on ocean. These are GREAT BOATS.
